FIRST EVER PAKISTANI DIRECTORY OF
YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS AND INFORMAL YOUTH GROUPS BY BARGAD-ORGANIZATION FOR YOUTH
DEVELOPMENT
What
are youth issues? What is a youth organization? What are the relevant issues
for organizations working on youth? How many organizations are operating in
Pakistan focus on youth and plan for their social and economic integration? How
can we reach these organizations? Do they work on an individual basis or seek
collaboration and partnership with others? What kind of informal youth groups
are functional in Pakistan? Are current youth organizations sufficient for
youth in Pakistan? All these are questions that may be asked by many
practitioners or policy makers concerned with youth issues. Unfortunately, they
usually get incomplete answers because there is no clear and comprehensive
published resource that gives full answers to these questions. A documented
source that identifies, defines, describes and gives guidance to the current
status and trends of youth organizations and informal youth groups in Pakistan
is need of the hour, a partnership between the Bargad and Heinrich Boll
Stiftung came to fulfill this national need.
Youth
directory 2011 is an authentic tool of networking and alliance building, which
offers reference to policy and public practitioners to work with organized
youth. It is a vital source on how many, where, which and what kind of youth bodies
are working in Pakistan for the betterment of youth
The success of the study is that it is
conducted ‘by youth’ and it is ‘for youth’ and is foreseen to be the premier
document to vanguard integrated youth development reforms in Pakistan.
